Construction Details:

Since 2000, I've worn this costume about 3 times: 1) AX'01 when Mikimoto returned, 2) Ani-Magic in hopes of Mari Iijima showing, 3) the last photoshoot at the UCI campus. I doubt I'll ever wear this costume again because it's too hot for summer or even autumn. @_@;

Personal Thoughts:

This was my very first costume. My friend, Flo, helped me construct it for the Anime Expo Karaoke competition in 2000, but urged me to enter the Masquerade instead. I've always been a big fan of the Macross series and despite the bad rep that Minmay has, I like her as a character. I hadn't seen many Minmay cosplayers before this and I thought it would be interesting to try as my first cosplay. I was surprised by how many people commented on my likeness to her~ ^^ The costume was a little expensive to construct. The wig was styled at the salon (as I had no prior experience and very little time) and the material is 100% wool. The original boots I wore were bought at Ross' and the blouse was my mom's old silk blouse. I remade boot covers in 2003 as the original boots literally fell apart. ^^;
