About this Costume
Construction Details:
been planning this costume since forever but I promised not to start until Ive played ff13. I really like Lightning, theres something about her that is really strong and she is determined to get through things. Her design was always strange but ugh, so much buckles. really now.

The costume was a complete nightmare. Ive studied the fabrics to get everything perfectly accurate and I tried to make sure I got most of the little details down. Im still missing a few details on the gloves. I fixed up a lot of things for this photoshoot, AX was the test run and I found out what all needed to be fixed. Overall Im happy with it. I plan on making new gloves again and making her sword bag and figuring out the sword still.

The wig was a pain, but im keeping it on a wig head from now on. The vest was pretty difficult and took the longest. She doesnt have a seam going down the side so I don\'t either. I patterned it to fit with other seams. The collar and vest are one peice and ugh so much research to make it right. The pouch and boots both took 2 days each to make. I actually made accurate closures on her vest because I couldnt find any that were even remotely perfect for it. I had to make most of the buckles because I've tried to find them and had no luck. They are at least the correct shape and size so I'm happy.

I also made the necklace and cast it from resin, The official ones are so expensive so I was thinking about making a few and selling them for other Lightnings who want them :)

My shoulder pauldron glows, but the heat killed it at AX so Im redoing the glowy parts only since I love the rest of the pauldron. We even figured out what it says in the language of Cocoon!
