About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The costume has a 6 hoop hoop skirt with a three layer petticoat. The red skirt is made from casa satin and was hand gathered to get the right hang. The black lining is a light polyester with two different laces sewn to the hem. The main black skirts are casa satin and both individually lined layers. The gold details were hand drawn on satin and heat n' bonded to the skirts. The gold was satin stitched down and the hems were top stitched.
The bodice has a little bit of boing but is fully lace up. The Gold was attached with the heat n' bond and satin stich method to match the skirts. The collar hem and sleeves were a heavier bridal satin and hand pleated. The beaded lace on the collar was hand sewn on. The chocker was thin black trim with white lace hand sewn as well.
The pipe was made from an old paint brush, worbla, contact solution lid, foam, and paint. - Personal Thoughts:
- I've always had a thing for the more "gothic" supernatural stories and Umineko was right up my ally. I wasn't too crazy about the character of Beatrice in the first part of the anime/manga but as the story went them more I found I liked her and she was incredibly relatable. By the time the I finished the anime I had never felt so attached to a character. I knew I had to cosplay her and this is the second version I've done. She's one of the few characters I've done where I can just be myself and have fun running around in.

- Styling Notes
- I cut the bangs and added wefts to the side for the curls and the bun. I cut and stubbed the pony tail then added the bun. The bun was a Styrofoam ball that I hollowed out and added a braid that I made out of extra wefts too. the Rose was a silk flower rose that I attached to a hair clip.
