About this Costume
Construction Details:
The Star Wand is made from a dowel, Styrofoam for the red ball and pink hoop, and craft foam for the star, wings, gold design on the top and bottom, as well as the red tip at the end. I used acrylic paints, hot glue and gloss for a shiny effect!

The Sakura book is made from a template by DeviousBunny on Deviantart, and was glued to foam board and painted afterwards. I also purchased the cards on Amazon.com for about $5. (the quality is really nice!)

The anklet, garter-belt, and choker were made from a light pink trim and dark pink ribbon. The star was made out of craft foam and later painted and glossed. I also made an extra choker for my Kero plushie so that we could match!

The petticoat is made from 13yards of pink netting and was put together by my mom. (thank you so much mom!)

The dress was my first time using satin and I loved it! It was really easy for me to sew with and it???s such a pretty fabric. I used a McCall???s pattern (M7101) and altered it a little bit for the dress. The pink underskirt was also made of satin. Everything was made by me except for the elastic around the skirts waistband and the zipper on the dress, which were sewed on for me by my mom. (thanks a bunch mom!)
Personal Thoughts:
When I was in elementary school, Cardcaptor Sakura was one of my favorite manga series (as well as anime). Sakura has so many beautiful costumes, but the 3rd opening dress has always stood out among the rest for me. (plus, the song was performed by the Maaya Sakamoto) I tried to make the dress back in 6th grade out of felt, but quickly quit. With the 20th anniversary beginning in 2016, as well as going back and re-watching the anime, I gave in and decided to make this dream costume of mine!<br />
This is probably my most comfy costume yet and I enjoy the flowy feel of the dress! I???ll admit that I got a bit teary eyed the first time I put the whole costume on since this was a dream costume of mine! <3

Styling Notes
This wig was my first ???real??? styling experience, such as making the bangs lay flat instead of ???swooshed??? as in the product photos, as well as raising a few hair strands up in order to make Sakura???s mini pom-poms. This was my first time wearing a short-haired wig and I LOVED it!
