About this Costume
Construction Details:
Dress purchased from Amazon, then shortened several inches and painted on hem, front, back, and arms. The shell sleeves were a foam seashell bra that was repainted and applied with velcro (to allow for easy washing). Ribbon was used for tentacles, and three petticoats went under the dress for shape. Then green thigh highs and purple rain boots.

The fish headpiece was constructed from scratch using fleece and polyfill. I made the lining first, just pinning something that would fit my head, and then used that as a pattern reference to make the fish shape. I used a LOT of stuffing to make sure the body of the fish would stay upright. It has a velcro opening at the mouth to secure it open/closed.
Personal Thoughts:
I really tried to keep in the spirit of Totoko's fish idol costume, by which I mean I made a bad decision for a weird gimmick, threw something together while semi-drunk, and then demanded praise and attention for it.
