Construction Details:

The costume was all made of wool, aside from the creme leggings, and all of the blue costume pieces were hand dyed by me with RIT dye. I spent hours with different blue and turquoise mixtures to try and match the blues from the Manga.
nI casted the red brooch and earrings myself as well.
nThe boot covers are made of fosshape, lined with cotton, and covered in wool. The gloves are gusseted and lined with cotton.
nThe hat is lined with cotton and real lenses glued in with E6000. I did reverse applique on the flaps.
nAll of the fringe was hand cut and finished with Fray Check. Soooo many fumes...

Personal Thoughts:

Nausicaa was the first Miyazaki film I ever saw and it was love at first sight. I read the books later and the it's one of the best stories out there.

Styling Notes

I just cut the bangs and overall length a little shorter.
