About this Costume
- Construction Details:

Athena was simultaneously difficult and very easy. I hand-patterned a box pleat skirt and used a serged blind hem. I used an existing blazer pattern with heavy modifications to the lapel, closure, and length, and faced the entire blazer in itself for cleanliness. The cuffs were an interesting challenge, but are entirely seamless trim and look good from all angles, which was super satisfying to make.
I was originally going to hand-make her white shirt, but the day I was going to work on it, I checked the local Kmart on a whim, and managed to find a sleeveless white blouse that was the correct shape, but far too big on me. I had to do heavy alteration to all the darts on the shirt, then cut off the collar and created a brand new collar with facing. The hem was cut into points and then I serged the edges and hemmed them up.
Widget, my glove, and my wig were already done from when I did Athena's pirate costume back in 2014. I painted the boots with leather paint. My attorney's badge is the official one from Capcom! - Personal Thoughts:
- I was a late bloomer with Ace Attorney, starting the series in 2011, but by the time I got around to Dual Destinies shortly after its release in 2013, I was in it DEEP. I am constantly in awe how the writers are able to introduce new main characters who feel as if they've been part of the family all along, particularly Athena. I latched onto her right away and started gathering materials to cosplay her back in 2014, and finally whipped it up to wear with my friend Shinjaninja as my Apollo!
