Construction Details:

Continuing on with my fascination of Leiji Matsumoto characters, I decided to cosplay Melda because she is a different race and her purple bodysuit is pretty rad. Melda is a Gamalan, a type of alien race that is the main antagonists of the story.nI did this costume buy buying two catsuits, using one as the base and cutting up the other, taking the parts and layering it onto the base suit. I used a special glue called G17 to hold it all together, none of it was stitched at all other than the base body suit. I used craft foam for the shoulders and again used the dark purple bodysuit material, the extra stuff to sort of laminate it and get it the same color as the rest of the suit.The hard part was I had to do all of the glueing while I was wearing the suit and to make sure it all fit right. I did several fitting/gluing sessions over a one month period.My makeup is greasepaint set with baby powder.... easy enough but the stuff is messy!Overall I am very happy with the finished results and so impressed with how the glue managed to hold everything together so well, in a way its better than stitching as you can stretch it without it breaking. Very handy! The other girl in the photos cosplaying Akira Yamamoto Is my friend Ayako, we wore our costumes to Tokyo Comiket Winter 2015.

I think I look pretty fetching with blue skin!
