About this Costume
Construction Details:
I bought a zentai suit and had to *completely* edit the thing to fit me, tailoring the waistline, the pants, and the ridiculous zipper that went down and around my torso from my chest to the back of my neck. The wig was in two parts, and for AB I added the chainsaw from her climax attack.

Other costume details include:
-Writing the symbols from her ribbons on the costume
-Shiny, flowing fabric that was permanently pleated to mimic the hair from her sleeves
-Lollipops for use at con
-Fabric paint on the gloves
-Metal detail at the edges of the glasses

The costume has over 30' of chain, including the chains coming from her hair and sleeves. I had the pendants from her arms up until the week before the con when my friend's dog chewed them all up. Probably the only time in my life where that excuse actually applied!

The chainsaw was a base of a single wood board that I cut a handle into to support the massive weight, followed by layers of carved foam and a layer of plaster fabric to seal the foam and give the weapon texture.
Personal Thoughts:
Bayonetta was a 3-week process for the double-duty weekends of PAX East 2010 and Anime Boston 2010. I had assembled most of the pieces of the costume beforehand, and threw it all together in a massive endeavor.

I had a lot of friends throw in to help me get this together on time, and I am so grateful to them for that!! This was a life-changing experience as a costumer, it being my first really impressive cosplay. I was stuck in the entrance of the con for almost 3 hours while everyone was taking pictures and made some really good friends who were there for the same reason. There was even a little girl who had Bayonetta as a role model and she was the most shy and beautiful thing when she came up for a photo. So much amazing.

The most amusing part of this costume, and what I'll end on, was that with the heels, hair, and my natural height of 6', this entire costume put me at around 7.5' of height :)
