About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
This was a relatively simple suit to construct, though it was complicated by finding the proper suiting material. I used a basic suit pattern, having found one with a long coat in the Burda patterns.
The fabrics used were Italian wool suiting in two shades of magenta, purchased from Mood Fabric. The waistcoat was made of simple black polyester suiting, and the cravat was made from white cotton sateen.
The buttons on the waistcoat are my favorite detail! I made them using two types of buttons, a basic four holed button and a shank button with the scales of justice on them. They were glued together and gold leafed!
The waistcoat pattern was actually a winter coat pattern with princess seams that I shortened and shaped to look like his waistcoat. It was a pain matching up the seams to the reference images released by Capcom, but the effort was worth it.
The wig was my THIRD ATTEMPT at styling an Edgeworth wig. I used the Magnum from Arda Wigs, in the Dark Grey shade, and styled using heat and Got2bglued hair glue spray. It is by far the BEST Edgeworth wig I have ever made, and I'm very pleased with it. - Personal Thoughts:
- My undying love for all things Ace Attorney, including this labor of love. When they revealed Edgeworth would be in this game, I screamed. It was a glorious day.
