Construction Details:

The kimono is modified from Mccall's M4953 pattern. I shortened the skirt and the sleeves to be more accurate to Felicia's design. I also took out some excess off the center front, side seams, and made a center back seam. The pattern calls for you to have a tiny opening for your hand, but kimono's tend to have larger arm openings so i altered that too.

My favorite is the kitty paws I heat-n-bonded down then satin stitched around all the edges.

The kimono's main body is lined in itself, to prevent it from being sheer, and the sleeves are serged. I altered the design since I ran out of yellow fabric, and made the robe's neck edge be the same pink as I used for the obi.

The obi, is basically a long rectangle that overlaps in the front and pinned close. The bow is a separate piece that pins on top.

Personal Thoughts:

I really love Darkstalkers. I decided last minute to pull together this variation of Felicia from Cross Edge where she has this Kimono design; since I was able to borrow my friends wig, and fur accessories.

I loved portraying Felicia, and it was fun to talk to people who recognized the character and series!
