About this Costume
Construction Details:
Maria's 18th century caraco pattern is made from a gorgeous emerald green dupioni silk, interlined with a cotton batiste and serged to keep the silk from fraying. Collar is camel interfacing, with antique gold dupioni coverings. The intricate designs were carefully blocked in photoshop by my husband, and then transferred and painted by hand. Lace in the front area is actual lace from the 18th century, found by my mother-in-law during her trip to Paris!

Wig was custom dyed using the FW + alcohol method to be a warmer shade of blonde. Shoes were painted gold, and added vintage buckles to give it the right look!
Personal Thoughts:
A costume that I had been dying to make, since the game first came out in 1997. Little did I know, I would actually follow through with it over sixteen years later.
