About this Costume
Construction Details:
The dress is made out of a combination of bubblegum pink satin that I got off of ebay and bottomweight cotton sateen that I dyed with a combination of fuchsia and wine RIT dye. I used a Simplicity costume pattern (Pirates of the Caribbean/Marie Antoinette) for the basic shape, but I altered the bodice length and skirt proportions. The dress is supported by an A-line bridal crinoline and the bodice has roughly a dozen pieces of plastic boning in it. I purchased the rosettes, lace at neck and sleeves, and gold trim, altered some pink ribbon for the little bows, and painted the gold lace and bow with Colortool spray paint. I made the necklace out of sculpy, the hair comb out of craftfoam, and the earrings out of wire, cardboard, and plastic pearls.
Personal Thoughts:
This costume is so gloriously tacky.

Styling Notes
I didn't do much to the wig aside from hairspraying the bangs to the side and pinning up some of the shorter curls on the top portion of the wig.
Wig Review
This wig is the perfect style for this costume, I just wish I could have gotten it in a darker shade of brown.
