Construction Details:

The costume was bought, but I did some modification to match the actual costume design.

For the Iron Dites, I used 4 layers of cardboard each after tracing and cutting out the design, glued them together with crazy glue, and used black electric tape to wrap around. The hilt is covered with black foam sheets with yellow felt making the rings and blue scrapbook stickers for the jewels.

I'm not sure if it's visible in the photos, but I also made the platoon badge as captain of the 17th platoon. Used cardboard, silver and black Sharpies, top coat nail polish, and crazy glued a pin-backing to the back of the badge.

Hair clips were made using white felt and an alligator clip. I cut 12 leaf-shaped pieces and hand-sewed 2 per piece, creating 6, and 4 wing-shaped pieces, hand-sewed 2 per piece, creating 2. Layered 3 leaf ones under a wing one, and glued them all together, one on top of the other.
