Construction Details:

I previously cosplayed Asuka in her sun dress, but my main eventual goal was to cosplay her plugsuit. I chose to do her original plugsuit that was updated for the Rebuild movies. The plugsuit started off as a red lycra bodysuit.The chest armor were soft bra inserts that painted modge podge onto to make them hard. I then sanded them and painted glossy orange paint onto them. The neck armor, plugs, and wrist bands were made of sculpey light. The shoes were a combination of craft foam and black flip flop sandles that I cut the straps off of. Lines were drawn onto the body suit with a fabric paint pen. Black lycra was used for the black parts on the arm and red lycra was used for the backpack piece. For the most part I’m satisfied with this cosplay. There were some things I didn’t finish on the costume on time for the convention (college finals and such right before the con! D: ). Maybe in the future I will modify it some. It was a challenge to me, being the first time I worked with lycra. In anycase, I’m happy that I got to bring one of my favorite characters to life~ The wig was styled by me and was surprisingly difficult to style, as I started off with a bangless wig.
