About this Costume
Construction Details:
I've been wanting to get around and making Jill's STARS uniform for a little while now, I finally had a great excuse to make it when Jay (The Letter Jay on coscom) and I decided to go to Wizard world con, since he was gonna be cosplaying STARS Chris. The beret was bought at a military surplus store, and I custom dyed it to achieve the right shade of blue. The patch on it was given to me by my good friend Starywind, since she had a tiny STARS patch handy. Ten top I made out of a light blue ribbed knit, I added the princess seams onto it and top stitched them. The cargo pants I made from a desaturated blue cotton. The combat boots I had on hand already; the gloves were bought from walmart. The pouches on the belt were also made by me, made from a nylon fabric, and are pretty close to real military grade pouches. The gun holster I had already. The shoulder pads were probably the trickest part of this costume, I made them from an upholstery vinyl, and there is foam inserted into them to make them more padded looking. The straps on them is elastic, with a parachute clip in the front. Cosplayer Straywind also joined in on the RE fun as Rebecca Chambers, we really just needed a STARS Wesker and we could have had a nice little group going for us.
Personal Thoughts:
I really enjoyd wearing this costume, I want to get more photos of it, I feel it needs more attention lol. I love Resident Evil, so wearing this costume more often is certainly a must for me!
