Construction Details:

The main construction materials were cardboard, hut glue, and wire. In some cases, it was a wire frame structure with cardboard built over it, and in other cases, it was just cardboard held in shape by wire reinforcements. Each and every scale was hand cut and painted while the horns and spines were coated in black duct tape to give it a unique and contrasting texture. The gunlance is a mostly cardboard structure with a length of PVC running down the first half and a series of rare earth magnets holding the second half in place. Turned out the front half was still too heavy after painting so I drilled a few holes and added locking pins. While not too torturous to carry folded up, the whole thing was murder on my left arm while unfolded and extended. I was only able to hold it for a minute or two at a time before needing a rest. In the few pictures where I was holding it up, I was screaming at my friends to hurry and take the pictures while everyone else was stifling their giggles.
