About this Costume
Construction Details:
The result of 2 days time to throw together a costume since I was asked last minute to be a judge for the Virginia Comicon's costume contest. There wasn't any sewing involved with Death since most of her clothes I already owned (most of my wardrobe is black). The hardest part of the whole costume was the makeup. After doing extensive facial makeup for costumes for 3 years I figured covering my upper torso in white Aquacolor wouldn't be that hard. I was wrong. It took me about an hour & a half. This experience has taught me that I HAVE to invest in an airbrush machine, for the sake of ease & even coverage without hassle. I did have a personal argument with myself when I bought the wig for her, since it was walking that super thin line of being a mullet, & I had to talk myself into buying it against my better judgment. Haha, fortunately after I ran a flat iron through it & straightened the wefts it still held it's volume but looked a LOT less like a mullet & a LOT more like Siouxie from Siouxie & the Banshees <3
Personal Thoughts:
Neil Gaiman <33333 When I was in middle school, "Sandman" was one of the first comics I ever read, & it was my segway into the rest of his works (& fall in love with the late 70's-80's European Goth & subculture). I was so happy when so many of the attendees at the convention knew who I was. One day I'd love to throw together a really good Endless group <3
