Construction Details:

My boyfriend is very into the Earthbound/Mother series and asked if we could cosplay Kumatora and Duster together. I started playing the game and absolutely loved it. I ended up making this costume for AX to go with a friend of mines group. The wig is from Arda Wigs that I dyed and spiked (First time I have done anything with a wig, ahhh!). The dress I made out of fleece which was a terrible idea. I had a lot of problems in the process of making it (fitting it and attaching the hood) and I keep getting heat exhaustion when I wear it. I'm going to be remaking this in time for Akicon. The necklace I tried casting a jewel for the first time and it turned out great. The rest of the pendent is paper clay that I sanded down. The boots are some cheapo chinese ones I got and painted. UPDATE: I remade this costume for Sakuracon 2011. I made a new dress out of knit so I don't get heat stroke and dyed and styled a new wig as well since after I washed out my first one, the tips of the hair turned white. I like my dress a lot more but I have a few things I want to change on it. Mostly I want to even out the hem a bit and possibly line up the stripes on the sleeves a bit. The wig I want to completely restyle the bangs because I think it makes me look like a baby

Rit Dye and FW Ink

Styling Notes

I decided to go ahead and use rit dye on a wig and it worked really wig. I have learned that you can't get a ridiculously bright color though (At least I couldn't. It kept coming out muddy!) so I went over it again with some Magenta FW ink. I like the color a lot more then my last wig and I think the styling is a big better too minus the bangs. Arda wigs are so easy to style and dye!!!
