Construction Details:

all right, been meaning to get to this as i keep getting questions about it. and just as before, its not as awesome once i tell you how i did it XD anyway, this is basically a layering project. tools used: belt sander, jigsaw, file, and drill. the sword is 5 layers of hardboard. the white pieces are the outer 2 layers and the inner 3 are cut in the overall sword shape. the biggest problem is obviously the support from the handle into the "blade." to remedy this, i got a 1/4" x 1" x 3' aluminum rod. the inner most layer has a groove that the aluminum sits in perfectly that goes through the handle and into the sword. while not giving it 100% mobility, it does make it durable enough to pose with. the revolver is actually a soda can with the top cut off and filled with insulation foam. the red piece that is not the can is a 1.25" dowel rod. everything was glued together with gorilla glue, belt sanded the bevel for the blade, filled spots with paste, filed, sanded, primed, sanded, and painted. the gold accents were added with puff paint of all things and that would be all there is to it.
