Construction Details:

One of my first costumes. The flower petals were handpainted, first using a cut out sponge in the shape of a petal, then using a brush to fill it the designs with fabric paint. Despite the headaches I had a lot of fun with this costume and learned a lot about sewing, different techniques, and fabric choices. If you have any direct questions don't hesitate to ask! :D

Styling Notes

Long wigs are a BEAST!!! Since Kaoru was one of my very first costumes that involved actual wig styling, I was a bit lost/confused at first. Putting a long wig into a ponytail isn't as easy as one would think (a lot of trial and error was involved). The bangs were cut in since the wig was originally bang-less. I didn't know about Got2B spray back then, so I just used some regular Spritz (hair spray of doom) to keep the wig looking fresh, shiny and to try to keep the bangs in place.
