Construction Details:

Sari was purchased white, cut it in half and dyed it to an orange gradient, and reassembled with a french seam. Hand sewed 10 yards/9 meters of orange sari border, and added some rhinestones to the pallu.

Choli was patterned off my modifications to Simplicity 5359 from Lotus and is a white satin lined with a cotton quilting print. Trim was hand-sewn and beaded. Closes with a bra hook and eye and rattail cord ties.

Veil was dyed similarly to the pallu, gradient orange from the center. The veil has an orange and gold rolled hem, and hand-beaded lace around the front edge.

The crown piece was 3d modeled and printed by me.

Personal Thoughts:

Going through Cowslip's gijinkadex, I really liked the design for Goldeen. However, she drew him male, so I took her original design as the basis for my own. It seemed heavily Indian-inspired, so I swapped the jacked for a sari and ran with it.

This project took me a shameful 5 years to complete. Don't let doubt stop you from creating.

Styling Notes

I added wefts from Epic (silver, dyed with orange iDye Poly) to the bottom of the wig to create an orange gradient, and then fish-tail braided the length.
