About this Costume
Construction Details:
Capelet: I sewed this like two mini capes combined as one with an under white layer and outer coral layer. I found a fantastic white trim that looked like white feathers to trim around the collar. Later I sewed satin ribbon to tie it onto the front.rnrnWhite blouse: The blouse was fairly simple to make except for the sleeves. I trimmed the sleeves with two types of lace then sewed in ribbon of different colors to get the patterns that go around her sleeves. They're extra embellished than they should be but I felt it was appropriate. :)rnrnBrown vest w Black detailing: This is made using a modified pattern for a gown with should straps. Really any fitted top pattern could be used here. I put in eyelets for the lacing holes then sewed in black lace above the chest and the zigzag black mini overskirt pattern on the bottom.rnrnApron: I used a combination of lace and ribbon to add all the details to the apron. The trim on the front pocket I sewing using leather cord. I had to puncture holes in my cotton to get this to sew threw right.rnrnSkirt: The skirt is lined with a base layer since the coral fabric I found is very delicate. I found a gorgeous patterned ribbon to trim around the skirt and another type of lace trim to trim the bottom.rnrnPetticoat: To have a very soft look for my skirt, I wanted a very soft and fluffy petticoat. I found a great crinoline petticoat sold by Malco Modes on Amazon and though it was a bit pricey, I use this petticoat on so many occasions that it's worth it!rnrnStockings: I sewed lace to the top of some plain white knee high socks then glued on the black dots with fabri tac glue. Such great stuff!rnrnShoes: I made shoe covers using the same fabric as the skirt. Then taped them onto some mary jane shoes I found for cheap. rnrnTop headpiece: The shape was a simple triangle with ribbon to tie it on. I shaped some fabric for the Chii earlike things on the sides of her head and then embellished by again sewing ribbon in a pattern and attaching small premade flowers for the pattern.
Personal Thoughts:
I loved playing this game and seeing the adorable art style all through out. The designs of Polka's dress I fell in love with at first sight! The this delicate creature fought with a frilly parasol which isn't common in games. Love! I had to make it~!
