Construction Details:

I started with the easy part: NOT. I started with making a tsuke style obi with red material I purchased from JoAnns. I was scared at first to use this material but it worked out perfectly. It fits comfortably and I can adjust it without having to retying it.
About two yards of interfacing went into just the bow alone. I used about 1/2 a yard for the body piece of the obi.
The dress was pretty simple, just a simple dress: made sure that the botton flared out. I used the same red material as the obi for the bias tape on the skirt. I used my embroidery machine for the butterfly. I used the same material for the arm warmers and the headband. No I didn't put any interfacing in the headband.. I'll probably go back and do that.
I purchased purple soccer socks and had the wig stored for a long time.

Personal Thoughts:

I've never liked the purple one. I think the red clashes with the purple. I'm a fan of the bow and purple just not the red. This is probably the most purple costume I've ever made.
