Construction Details:

This is one of the few costumes I made back when I was still learning how to sew. I never thought I'd actually photograph it and post it, I felt it wasn't "good enough" But then I decided to give it a second chance and I revamped it up by lining the top, overlock serging any raw edges, and airbrush/painting the swans for a faded look. I just used my Alicia XXL wig in auburn (from my Yue Ying costume) I don't think orange hair would suit me well :) I really like how the revamp edition looks, and the photos turned out nice. They were taken in a local park near a pond, needless to say there were some heads turning, wondering what the heck I was doing :) The dress is made of matte blue satin, and the obi is made of white satin with buckram interfacing for stability. I still need to debut this at a con, hopefully soon!

Personal Thoughts:

It's kinda "scary" to wear, which is why I usually wear figure skaters tights with this number. It would also prove to be quite difficult to fight in this thing, I mean honestly...there's so much potential for wardrobe malfunction!!! Hello??!!
