About this Costume
Construction Details:
Probably the most intense build I've ever done so far. Everything I made on my own except for the pants, sandals base, and the sword base.
The mask I patterned based on a papercraft design template I bought from Lapa Studios, and adapted slightly to fit Inosuke's design more. This concept of making the headpiece this way was my own idea.
I used different types of faux fur based on the art that Gotouge had in one of the volums detailing Inosuke's design, and referenced pictures of boar, deer, and bear fur to help me choose the best fabric I had access to. The eyes on the mask are 3D printed simple half spheres that I painted, and I'm working on figuring out the best way to make it so that I can see better through the mask. The nose is made from eva foam which is covered in felt.
The leg pieces/shoes are made using a cut up sock as a base where I glued on a different type of faux fur fabric onto them.
The swords I made based on a tutorial from another cosplayer, where I stripped, cut up and repainted Amazon swords to be like Inosuke's Nichirin blades.

The whole build probably took me roughly a month, while working a job at the time. I debuted this cosplay first at NYCC 2019.
Personal Thoughts:
Inosuke is my favorite character in KNY!! I love him so much and connect with him on a deeply personal level. When I first watch his debut episode (even before they showed his face!) I decided he has the one
for me that I wanted to cosplay (so far) from KNY :)
Also I did actually dye my hair to get the desired look for Inosuke, we already had the same haircut anyways so it worked out very well.
