About this Costume
Construction Details:
Oh boy did a lot of hours go into this baby.

The shirt is basic poplin and a straight forward button-down. I added decorative vine stitching on the collar and button area in metallic silver thread. There is also silver stitching on the cuffs. The buttons are faux pearl flowers.

The cape pattern was drafted myself. It is made from faux fur and satin. There is interfacing and decorative vine stitching reinforcing key areas.

The skirt is two tiers of double circle skirts and a bottom layer of snowflake organza. It is green upholstery velvet lined with a holiday plaid cotton. There is wide horsehair braid in the hem. The trimmings are gold ribbon and jingle bells hand tacked on, plastic ornaments on eating hooks, 30 resin cast stars attached with pins and just under 100 lights pushed through button holes.

The purse was made from red and black pleather, buckram and lined with red knit. Hardware was purchased from Etsy.
Personal Thoughts:
This costume doesn't look all that complicated but it was a huge time sink.
