Construction Details:

The corset thingy, I drafted my own pattern for and it was easily the most difficult part of the costume. I'm lucky I had enough fabric to make it a second time! It's actually lined with Disney Villains fabric because why not? The lacings are hand-stitched into place

Halter, I drafted my own pattern for as well. I created bias out of the same stretch black that I used for the leggings and corset to border it, and mostly hand-stitched the thin strip at the top of the neck. The cups are, well, cups covered in the same fabric and stitched into place. I tried drafted the weird yin-yang shape she has but it didn't work out.

nLeggings and gloves made with Yaya Han's accessory pattern. Gloves were hand-painted with fabric paint because you're nuts if you think I'm sewing that thin a bias-tape into fingerless gloves. Leggings stay up thanks to being sewn to dance-tights.

nSleeves magically stay up with discarded remains of the dance-tights used to keep the leggings up.

nSleeve armor and Mark of Mastery symbol made from Black Worbla. Yellow gem is a glass cabochon with backing painted yellow that was carefully set into the Black Worbla.

nStraps are leather purchased in NYC.

nSkirt zips up in the back and is hidden by false knot. Wrappings are false ties as well, sewn into place.

Personal Thoughts:

Years ago, when I was chomping at the bit for KH3, I remember loathing BBS. "Who the hell is this Aqua chick? Aqua? Really? That's her name?" Fast-forward to the HD Remix release and me finally learning who Aqua is and falling in love with her like everybody else. She just wants to protect the ones she loves so much! Her strength is inspiring. <br />As for the costume, I'm quite pleased with it overall! This was a WIP for about two years and I'm glad I took my time with it.

Styling Notes

This was my third attempt at an Aqua wig! I wefted in a lot of pieces so that they "naturally" flow certain ways, instead of forcing them to go in directions they were never meant to. Used Got2b Freezing Spray primarily. I styled this with Fragmentary Passage's renders of her hair, as it was far easier to achieve this natural look than the cartoony exaggerated styling.
