Construction Details:

The dress was originally made for a Princess Serenity cosplay. I just changed a few things to make it Neo Queen. It's made from fabric I had left over from other projects. Most of it's from Wal-mart. The sleeves are made from crushed velvet and hard felt.

I had never done beading before and didn't realize how long it took. The bodice probably took me at least 30 hours. I'm sure I did it wrong, but I learned so much.

The wing frame is formed from a clothes hanger. I made it so the wings can hinge close to save space. The bow tails snap to my dress.

The staff was an interesting journey. It's made from PVC. I decided to go with the eyecatch artwork colors instead of the garish pink from the series. The top part de-tatches from the base of the wings for easier transport. A dowel goes through the whole top for stability. The crown on top was a key chain that I stuffed with velvet. The moon is styrofoam I shaped with a foam cutter and coated with Magikoat and kwik seal. Everything else is craft foam.

I found my crown on ebay.

Personal Thoughts:

One of my favorite costumes hands down.
