About this Costume
Construction Details:
The kimono is made from cotton sateen, poly/cotton twill, and spandex for the trim. The white neckband is false and sewn in. The inner sleeves are also faked and sewn into the kimono body. There are cast resin gems holding the sleeves shut.

There is an actual bodysuit underneath the kimono and was heavily modified from an existing bodysuit pattern to fit the wearer. There is a skintone spandex modesty panel in the front for the wearer's comfort. There are appliqued details that no one will ever see!

The gauntlets are made from spandex and are held up with the power of their own stretch. There are cast resin gems on the top of the hand covers. The boot covers are also made from spandex and are glued on top of a swim shoe base. There is a skintone modesty panel for the wearer's comfort.

The hakama are poly/cotton twill. Nothing special here.

The cape is cotton sateen and silk. The silk is painted to match the image from an artbook. It was painted using water-based gutta and Jacquard Dye-Na-Flow and Setasilk paints. There are hand beaded details on the lining, as well. It has a cast resin gem for the clasp and the tie is dyed silk, handsewn together. The tassels were gradient dyed, as well.

The waist armor is canvas with two lines of spandex trim. There is a belt with a purple metallic spandex butterfly on the back that the hard armor is attached to. The belt is sewn to the base armor.
Personal Thoughts:
Made for and worn by D-maru. Difficult in different ways than I'm used to.
