About this Costume
Construction Details:
As a preface, I'd like to say that my Azura cosplay was far from what it could have been; it was rushed because I procrastinated and therefore is full of shortcuts and inaccuracies. Continuing on anyway: my dress is made of cotton sateen, the top half is lined while the skirt was a separate piece sewn on after (the seam is hidden under the blue ribbon). The blue detailing ribbons are all blue cotton sateen sewn over craft foam strips for dimension and stability aside from the loose ribbon around the hips which was just a tube sewn and turned right-side out. The gloves were cotton sateen with a stretch spandex panel so I could easily pull them on; they were also just sleeves because I didn't have time or energy to make actual fingerless gloves the night before. The legging(s?) are made of the same white spandex and sewn to skin-tone tights to hold them in place and prevent any unfortunate flashes. All of the gold-blue detailing/applique are made of gold pleather and blue cotton sateen heat-n-bonded or glued together before being sewn onto the dress. For some of the details, craft foam was sewn into them to give them dimension and stability. My veil was made of the same cotton sateen as the dress and the headband/flowers were made of the same blue and gold as the detailing. My pendant was made of leftover worbla rolled together, sculpted, and dremeled into shape. The gem was resin casted and sanded down to proper size.
Personal Thoughts:
I definitely made Azura on impulse because I was in love with her design the moment it came out! Since the game was already out and I had an open day, I had to splurge and get my paleo to cosplay some fire emblem *ROYALTY* with me! Azura was shockingly comfortable because she's barefoot altogether and the large amount of skin showing meant I didn't sweat to death in the AX heat. Only real pain was the wig which ended up causing me a massive headache in zero time.

I got a Matilda because it was the only long wig available in powder blue then sewed 2.5 packs of long wefts into it to increase volume and length.
