About this Costume
Construction Details:
Outside of make it too big, this was not overly complicated. The most labor intensive part was prep work for the bodice. I made a yard of folded tucks. I place the pattern pieces on the angle to cut them out. After I carefully pinned them together to make sure the tucks lined up perfected. The folded trim was a tad annoying because the actual character has frayed trim. This annoyed me because I wanted to fix it, but it is accurate to the costume design.
n
nThe hair was easy because it is mostly my actual hair. Surprise! I am a brunette. I put my hair in a bun. Then I pinned a unwefted yaki hair to it halved. Afterwards, I wrapped it around my head and pinned in place with bobby pins. Super simple
Personal Thoughts:
I thought it would be a great idea to sew a costume in 5 days before the con. Poor life choice on my part. However, I managed to mostly finish it. I debuted this costume at Con Kasterborous. It is a Doctor Who convention in Alabama. I had fun wearing it because being a bad guy is quite fun for me.
