About this Costume
Construction Details:
The dress was make of the same black embossed jacquard as my other lady's maid dress, but with the correct side facing out this time. French seamed, blind hemmed, collar faced, and I tried to make the stitches as close to screen accurate. There's fasteners on the cuffs, and buttons on the collar. The buttons are plastic ones I had to carve lines into with an Xacto knife to give an accurate look, and looped embroidery thread is the closure. The overdress is a crepe stain, again with the seams made to be as close to screen accurate as possible. The top is a lined vest, with piping inserted between the lines to get that ribbing, and then felt felled to the skirt portion. The trim on the vest for some reason isn't put on the tradition way in the show (why I really don't know), but I couldn't figure it out, so I went with my usual method but did the hand sewing on the front to give the illusion it wasn't tacked on but in a few places. The belt is the crepe satin stretched over elastic and with a store-bought buckle. The buckle is very hard to see on-screen so this was the closest I could find.

Wig info isn't displaying again for me. It's an Arda a factory sample of an upcoming style in Pale Blonde. I snagged the version without the lace front because I have a hard time getting lace fronts to stay stuck to my head (also, the wig used in the show has a notorious bad lace front lol). I sewed wig clips along the hairline. I cut off about two inches and straightened most of the top of the wig (but left part of the one side wavy for teasing). The bun is secured with a barely visible hair net, like in the show. The front is teased and then rolled back and looped onto the top of bun, secured by hairpins and bobby pins. Do note that in some photos I am either using my real hair or the wig from my other Anna costume.
Personal Thoughts:
This is actually my favorite of her lady's maid's outfits as it's pretty and made of silk in the TV show. And since I love her so much I wanted to do something from the last season.
