Construction Details:

I hand-dyed the sandy yellow parts of the fur for the ears and tail, using Rit DyeMore - it was all originally the white fur. The fur is still very nice and soft, and I brush it constantly to keep it looking nice. The over coat and skirt are red twill, and the white part is cotton that is actually a white-on-white pattern, to give it some nice texture. The belt is dyed and carved leather. I stitched the blue garter, which I made from stretchy bridal lace, to a pair of stockings. I attached cording to the sandals, and have to hand-tie them every time I wear the costume, which is the only drawback. The golden medallions are actually 1 1/2 buttons that I drew the design on using hot glue, and then painted. The blue tassels were all hand-made using embroidery floss because tassels that color don't exist as far as I can tell.

Personal Thoughts:

When I saw this adorable fox girl for the first time in a magazine scan I KNEW I had to cosplay her. Everything about this costume is perfect for me. It's very nice and warm, but not too warm, and the tail is very nice to lean back against when sitting or standing against a wall, lol

Styling Notes

I added a clip-in red extension - I specifically wanted a clip-in extension so that I could change the color in the future, in case I want to have a mother other than Hinoka
