About this Costume
Construction Details:
I started with an over-sized red leather jacket from a thrift store. I took out the lining, removed the zipper, and seam ripped out the sides and arm sleeves. Then I took in the sides and sleeves, shortened the sleeves and hem, and also re-shaped the bottom hem. After making a muslin pattern to create the pieces for the white yoke and collar design, I cut and sewed those together out of garment leather from Tandy, then sewed it onto the coat. I sewed the zipper back on and added the snaps for the collar.

After the debut I went back to add the upper pockets as fake pockets and put in the lining, using Bemberg.

For the ring, I bought a black-coated sterling silver ring and made the design for the top out of SuperSculpey. Painted that piece black and E6000 glued it onto the ring.

The wristband is made from white leather with the lines painted red.

The necklace is a sanded brass plate with ball-chain that I assembled.

The belt was bought and I customized the buckle using Worbla. After the debut, I went back and re-finished the buckle using MagicSculpt (TAP Plastics.)

The black t-shirt, pants, and boots I bought. Because the glasses made for the debut weren't sturdy enough I bought a pair.

Regarding the wig, I'll update with the information if I can track it down. It was styled by Inoli and after the debut and letting it settle, was trimmed up a bit more.
Personal Thoughts:
This was the first costume I started with an existing garment and re-worked it. I wanted the jacket to be made from leather, but couldn't find the right color or weight to build it from scratch. And at the time I wasn't in a place I could die larger pieces of leather. This was also my first garment made of leather, even though I had made accessories and props using leather prior to this. All of this lead to new costuming experiences.

I debuted the costume at Denver Comic Con 2015, then went back to refine a few details.
