About this Costume
Construction Details:
I made the corset like I always do with steel boning in all the seams. It's made of satin and then I cut all the skirts as long pieces that I then pleated as I joined the outer corset to the lining. There's bias around the top of the corset. The jacket is fully lined and the sleeve seams serged with bias around the hem. The bow on the front is a plastic heart done like my ones on my Stocking costume. I then glued feathers on it to look like Sailor Moon's. The boots for the costume are from my Cardinal Sforza costume. I put the red bias around the top by hand. I decided to trim the top because I didn't have time to buy new boots and the faux leather was cracking bad, so I covered the damage. I bought gloves and a wig that was pre-styled. It wasn't the perfect wig, but for a last minute wig, it wasn't bad. It just needed a little help to fix some of the fly-aways in the buns.
Personal Thoughts:
I had done a few Sailor Moon based corsets before, and then made the corset and jacket for the Eternal Sailor Neptune for a friend. Later I made Eternal Sailor Venus for my brother's girlfriend. I had intended to do Sailor Moon for myself at some point, so finally when I was asked to judge at Anime Blast Chattanooga and my brother's girlfriend said she would go with me so I didn't have to make the trip alone, I decided to finally make the idea come true. Soon one of my sisters-in-law wants to have Sailor Mars to match us. I would love to have a whole group done in this style.

Styling Notes
When I got the wig in, it was in an envelope, so it was jostled a bit. One bun was fine, another not so fine. I ended up getting blonde hair nets and wrapped the buns, used hairspray, and hair pins to get them in a bit better shape. Traveling with the wig cause my friend and I to give it a few colorful nicknames that I won't type here, but it stayed mostly in tact.
Wig Review
The wig was really silky and didn't tangle too bad. The actual cap was almost too small, but I made it work (I have hair down past my waist, so it does make it trickier to fit wigs). Other than the few fixable problems, it wasn't a bad last minute wig.
