About this Costume
Construction Details:
My first circle skirt! I can't believe I've cosplayed so long without making one! And I helped my sister and many friends make their skirts too.

The skirt was created using Simplicity pattern 3847. I deviated from the pattern a bit by attaching the zipper so that it zips through the waist band. I was really proud of my stitch in the ditch on the waistband!

The Jolteon white and yellow pieces were ironed on to each other by making "tape" with interface. Then I hand sewed the whole symbol with a single thread stitch to the skirt. I originally used interface to attach it to the skirt but it caused the skirt to be too stiff in that section.

My ears were made of minky for the yellow fur and suede for the black inner ear section. The suede is top stitched to the minky with a small zigzag stitch.
To give the ears stability I cut two pieces of felt and sewed them together to work as a batting. I also stuffed a 18 gauge wire inside to keep the ears upright and allow them to bend. I tacked the wire down at the top, middle, and bottom of the ears. This wire wraps around the headband. I then covered the headband with suede to conceal the wire.
The shoes are Kelly & Katie Isabel Patent Pump in Yellow from Designer Shoe Warehouse.
The Black top is a Maggie Tang off the shoulder 50's style top which I ordered on Amazon.
Personal Thoughts:
I imagine Jolteon would be a bit of a punk. She'd be the too-cool-for-school type, so I tried to show that idea with the leather jacket and my attitude in photos.
