About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Sewed ~300 silk roses to a tulle petticoat. The bodice is corseted, made of satin, and I used heavy-duty zip ties for boning. The cape is lace and tulle.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Second cosplay ever. I chose to tackle a character from one of my favorite games, SaGa Frontier. I did the game art version of her, not the artbook version (different details and color scheme, and much less ornate). I very much enjoyed the costume, and managed to take it to a private Halloween party (making it the first and so far only costume I've ever reprised in any way). All those roses were a pain, but so pretty! If I ever decided to reactivate this, it would entail a complete overhaul, like actually embroidering on the design (instead of just sticking on some fabric cut to the right shape). Also...my first ever corset! The headdress was tacked in place to the wig (stitched, that is) to keep it from just falling off. I just wish I could have made the cape collar stand up...
