About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
My headband was a strip of bias tape, bobby pinned to my forehead and the back piece was made of sintra glued to a hair clip. My shirt is just made of cheap cotton. My loincloth/skirt thing is made of stretchy swimwear material, mainly because I liked how it draped and the color. My tentacle vest is made of bottomweights (both the outside and the lining) with fabric paint white triangles on the bottom. The lapels are made of pleather. The collar is faux fur. My pauldrons are made of sintra with craft foam details. My bracers, obi, and leg armor are made of craft foam covered with worbla. The leg armor pieces were by far the hardest part to make (I ended up making them twice) and to wear. The shoes are just wedge thongs that I bought and fabric painted.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I've wanted to cosplay Say'ri since I initially saw her design; she was just a beautiful gorgeous samurai lady! My need to cos her was satisfied when my friend confessed a need to cos Tiki, and thus we both got to work on our fave couple! Sayri is one of the least comfortable cosplays I've made, but I definitely plan to unearth her and rewear her again sometime!
