About this Costume
Construction Details:
This was definitely one of the most painstaking costumes I've made! Due to the uniform nature of Tooth's feathers, I knew I didn't want to use real feathers as I was afraid I would be unable to find enough that looked the same in the right colors. Instead, I used interfacing to make them myself. There are about 2500 feathers on the body, and I hand-cut and attached every single one of them. The headdress is made from about 40 feathers of varying lengths, which I also hand-cut. I recently remade the wings; my first pair was poster board, cellophane and wire, but they fell apart after a few cons. When I remade them, I switched the poster board for foam core, and they are so much sturdier! The costume has approximately a three-foot wingspan. I can also retract them for when I'm walking through a crowded vendor room. The whole costume took me about 2-3 months to complete.
Personal Thoughts:
Tooth was one of my dream cosplays from the moment I saw the movie, and I honestly didn't think I could pull it off. It's one of my favorite cosplays that I've made!
