Construction Details:

The 8-panel dress is made of white stretch sateen, and pink cotton. I made tucks for the collar, although if I could redo it, I would have the entire collar shirred. Gathered ruffles and made a panel to hold it, then sewed the panel onto the dress.

The cape is made of a red scaley-printed polyester/cotton blend, lined with medium-weight polyester fabric. The collar is boned to keep it straight and interfaced with vinyl.

The boot covers, which were the only difficult garments to sew, are made with vinyl. In the future I will install boning in the seams to keep it standing up. I also inserted EVA foam at the soles and heel to change its shape and hide the seam allowance at the bottom.

Personal Thoughts:

Also a cute outfit, wearing it was a pain. I was over heating and having trouble keeping my boot covers up (will add boning in the future). My wig was too small for my head, and my contacts were uncomfortable since I have astigmatism. This costume is great for cold weather, but unfortunately I live in California where it's always hot.
