Construction Details:

Gaige - Everything was either made from scratch or very heavily modified by me. Details on the belt include the Roboteer class mod, the Flame of the Firehawk shield, Gaige's melee hammer and a grenade that's based on the cover of Green Day's American Idiot (a bit of a personal Easter Egg, haha!). The gun is Nerf, modified and painted by me, and it's based on the Three-Way Hulk. The wig was made by me, constructed by making a plaster cast of my head and building the shape out of Model Magic and a wire armature. All the makeup is self-applied. Everything was cel shaded with acrylic paint.

Claptrap - Claptrap is mostly foam core. He is mobile, so I can roll him around cons fairly easily. He is also completely collapsible, which makes for easy transportation to and from events. There are LEDs in his eye and antenna. He also talks! There is a speaker inside and I have loaded an MP3 player with some of his voice clips from the game.

The whole costume (including Claptrap) took me about three months to complete.

Personal Thoughts:

As soon as I played the game, I knew I wanted to cosplay from it. I love the cel shading effect!
