Construction Details:

Base was a black sakabato that I bought online (identical to the one I used for anime!Kenshin) After looking at refs in the movie photobook which made it painfully clear that the scabbard wasn't actually completely brown like I had first thought (and like other cosers do), I experimented (read: BS'd) some painting on the scabbard and then coated it in lacquer to get the nice finish (and cuz apparently that's historically accurate). The tsuka was my first attempt at wrapping as well - altogether, altering the sakabato took longer than sewing the actual cos =_=...
