The jacket was the hardest piece and was completely hand made from denim. The red pieces on the arms are made of fleece and spandex following a tutorial by my friend Hanyann/SilenceDrowns (http://silencedrowns.tumblr.com/post/49421986557/fabric-insets-using-facings). The arms have bias tape sew on the cuffs while the collar has the lines painted on, due to the collar having small tight corners making it hard for me to fit the bias tape around properly. The back piece is just duck canvas pressed on for the dripping moon and a black fabric marker for the words that are drawn on. The back piece and studs around the bottom were my own idea since it was looking a bit plain in person. Buttons on my jacket were purchased from Cherriesama (https://www.etsy.com/shop/cherriesama?ref=l2-shopheader-name)
Skirt was handmade from Casa Satin as well as the bow, nothing too difficult there. I ended up burning the bottom of the bow with a lighter and it just attached to the skirt top with snaps.
Collar was made from a ribbon with studs set in it.
Fake plug was made from lightweight scuplty and has large rare earth magnets set in. It worked extremely well but hurt my ears after wearing it all day.
Hair was the most interesting part. My head is buzzed with only bangs so I purchased a clip on bang piece of my bangs. The buns are the clip on buns from Arda Wigs with a package of short extensions for the pigtails. I glued the pigtails in and then glued on a small piece of canvas on the back of the buns. I attached these to my head with hair extension glue and they were able to stay attached to my head all day. The spikes also have a small piece of fabric attached to the bottom and are attached to my head with hair extension glue as well.
Everything else not previously mentioned was just purchased online. - Personal Thoughts:
- After seeing an amazing piece of art of Punk Sailor Moon by Claire Hummel/Shoomlah (http://www.clairehummel.com/) I fell in love and wanted to make a costume mostly based on that art as soon as I could. I did make some small changes to her design to get other things going with it but I tried to stay as close to the main pieces of the design as I could.
