About this Costume
Construction Details:
Everything was handmade by me and my friend.

We drafted the pattern for the skirt by hand and then took apart an old long sleeved t-shirt and made a pattern based off of that for the shirts. The skirt was made from suiting fabric, the kind that "work" suit jackets would be made from. The shirts were made from just regular knit material and the symbols were painted on using stencils that were printed and cut out.

Each hood was made based off of a tutorial we found (I don't have the link right now ): ). The pattern was hand drawn and then adjusted to our liking and made from the same suiting fabric as the skirt so it would match.

My ears were made from this fursuiting tutorial (http://fursuit.livejournal.com/3279030.html). I found that it was super useful and it was actually fairly easy to make!! I switched out plastic for cardboard in the middle, and then i covered the foam with white faux fur from Hancock Fabrics. The ears are attached to a headband and poke out through holes in the hood.

The shoes I already had, and the socks were bought from Sock Dreams. I'm actually looking to get new socks but unfortunately that will have to wait until later. The glasses came from a friend who already had them.

The wig is a Luthien from Arda wigs
Personal Thoughts:
I got into Homestuck a few years back when my best friend started reading it and after a while of contemplating it, we decided we would do some cosplays from it! This isn't the first Homestuck one we've done, but it is by far my favorite. I really wanted to cosplay one of the kids and Jade was my favorite so I'm glad I got to do this costume.

Wig Review
Arda wigs are really nice, my only complaint is that because the fibers are super thick (which is good for coverage), the thickness causes the wigs to be more likely to tangle than other brands.
I would recommend Arda for those of you going for something not super long.
