Construction Details:: First I made the shirt from a stretch knit so I had it as a base (only the front of the shirt isn't missing). The dress came next from a heavier cotton with horsehair braid in the hem to help the shape. The underskirt is a lighter cotton with a hand-placed ruffle. Each of the 28 spots were appliqued and satin-stitched. Then it was attached to the shirt. The hat was a wire frame with two layers of fleece, then I added the skeletal structure with more wire, fleece, and stuffing. The eyes are costume vinyl with the pupils satin-stitched on. After the structure was complete, I covered it with a two-way stretch vinyl to make sure all of the folds were present. Then I stitched up the back with a baseball stitch. The tadpoles were mini soccer balls that I made a 7-piece sphere with leftover fabric from the dress. Then I fused two layers of fabric together for the face pieces and hand-stitched them on. The tails were stuffed to stick out and hand-stitched on the bodies.
Personal Thoughts:: I was cast as her for the Starlight Ball at BelleCON 2014. We were given a Megacon deadline to have them done so we can wear them to promote.
