About this Costume
Construction Details:
Oh my, where do I begin with this.

The shirt and pants were thrift store finds that I took in to fit me. I added the grommets on the shirt. The harness system was made with vinyl. I just sewed a bunch of straight rows all the same width then pieced everything together. There's velcro on the backside of the belts that attach to the shirt and pants at various spots. The jacket was made from a pattern modified from a suit jacket. I hand-embroidered all the patches myself (do not recommend lol). The boots were a pair I found on amazon that I took in the back by hand since they were HUGE on my. I also added the tassels at the tops.

For the props, pretty much everything was made from sintra plastic and foam core, except for the swords which were made from wood.

Box sheathes:
The base of the boxes were made using foam core, which is just hot-glued together. To hide the foam edges I glued "for sale" sign plastic over the top of the foam, and filled in the seams from that with bondo and glazing compound. The tanks were made from cardboard tubes and I glued sign plastic over the top of them as well to hide the cardboard texture. To get them to look like metal I used Rustoleum Metallic Finish. I used halves of Christmas ornaments for the rounded part at the front of them. The braces holding the tanks in place are made from foam core as well with the seams filled in.

Swords:
The blades were made using thin plywood (which was sealed with wood sealer). The base of the handles were made using thicker wood, and the detailing over the top was made using sintra plastic. I filled in the seams with bondo.

Back Piece/Motor/whatever the heck that thing is:
The center piece was made using 6 layers of posterboard foam glued together, and then I put air-dry clay and glazing compound over the top. The side rotor-looking pieces were made using sintra plastic and craft foam.
Personal Thoughts:
Almost immediately after watching Attack on Titan I knew I had to cosplay it. I wish I would've had maybe a month longer to make this than I did, since I crammed the entire costume within a 2 month span lol. Looking back I would do the props completely differently. This is the first set of props I've made completely myself, so I'm still learning what materials are good for what.
