About this Costume
Construction Details:
Hoodie purchased on line and it ended up not being the right color, so I had to fabric dye it. Red rope cording was added to the hoodie with hand sewing. Two-tiered Skirt is made of taffeta (ha ha ha). The hair Twizzlers are made of red satin and thick cording. I made 2 satin pieces with the cording in the middle and then wove them together to make the one piece. Pinned it together onto the wig. The wig had beads bobby pined into it, the gummy bears were part of jewelry that I disassembled and attached with clips, and other candy in the hair were hand made. Wig is my Kyoko from Working wig with a clip on black pony tail. Leggings are made of lycra and were the hardest part of the costume to make due to each stripe being a strip of fabric I would piece together with another strip like a puzzle.
Personal Thoughts:
Really enjoyed this movie! I suppose I can relate to Vanellope with her energetic & goofy personality, her determination, her talent to drive, and her feelings of being an outsider. I love wearing this costume because she is super cute, recognizable and is comfortable (especially in the winter)Got to go cosplay ice skating in this costume and it was a great choice! I originally made this to MC the Anext masquerade since the coordinators made it the theme.
