About this Costume
- Construction Details:

Armsleeves: The armbands are a slightly sheer crinkle cotton. I made the armsleeves from one long tube, then stitched it together at the four points, then attached the bows on it. The top is held shut with a hook and eye.
Bikini: I did a lot of research for the bikini, because I knew I wanted something structured that would give me enough support and coverage, so I ended up purchasing a bikini top from Voda Swim, who I highly reccommend. I bought undyed leather cording and dyed it orange using Neon Orange Leather Angelus paint. I super-glued then hand sewed the cord around the bikini using clear nylon thread. The leather straps my boyfriend cut out, and then printed out the buckles on his 3D printer. He grommetted the front as well. I ripped off the bikini ties and sewed one across the back. The front orange leather tie is acid dyed.
Scarf: This monster. I spent an exorbitant amount of time researching various knit stiches before settling on a Woven Transverse Herringbone stitch that I manipulated to work in the round. I also used an undyed lace weight 55% BFL wool, 50% silk superwashed silk yarn. I knit three strands together at a time and it took me about 2-3 months to complete. The dying process I used Jacquard Acid wash dyes in Salmon, Cherry Red, and Sun Yellow and took me about two full days of dying. First I dyed the crimson 2x to get the richness of color, then I dyed the yellow, and then I overdyed the middle orange, and then I went back and dyed over the orange with yellow and red respectively. Then I reblocked the whole scarf making sure all the colors were in the right area as they dried.
Skirt: The skirt is just two layers of green twill/bottomweight fabric, grometted with leather straps that I used for the ties pulled through.
Leather Pouches: The leather pouches and belt are patterned made from yellow deerskin leather by my boyfriend.
Shoes: Shoes were cheap boots I bought from Wet Seal, reshaped and painted in Acrylic paints. I used a pearl finish on the white to give it a cool effect.
Headband: The headband is made from White Silk Dupioni that my boyfriend used RIT Dye to gradient dye.
