About this Costume
Construction Details:
The wig is from Arda, and I love it! Easy to style and wear and had the perfect Lum color in my eyes :) The horns are made from Sculpey clay, very easy XD The top is just a strapless bra covered with yellow dancewear; the bottom is made from dancewear lined with yellow jersey, and the shoes are ballet flats covered with the same dancewear (I wore white knee-highs under it so it wouldn't appear so thin). I drew all the stripes on with black fabric marker, and that's it! Made it in like 2 days, mostly with leftover dancewear. It was easy considering the amount of thinking that went into it; I just couldn't decide what kind of fabric I wanted to use since the only kind of stretchy fabric I could find was the dancewear and it kinda had an orangey tint to it, but I went with it anyway. I was going to use invisible straps but they looked funny so I just taped the top onto myself with apparel tape, and it worked great! I also have small elf ears, vampire fangs, and green contacts because I really wanted to bring out all the small details about Lum that makes her who she is - an alien!
Personal Thoughts:
FINALLY!!!! Been wanting to cosplay Lum for the longest time but never had the guts to do it - until I just said what the heck, who cares, I really love Lum, I'm just gonna do it, lol. It was also awesome that it coincided with it being my 30th cosplay I've done! :D

Urusei Yatsura is my absolute favorite manga, and also the reason I'm a huge Rumiko Takahashi fan. We had all the manga at my house since my dad is a fan of it and so I got to grow up reading it and watching it!
